谁有关于school motto的英语演讲搞啊?
A MOTTO is generally adopted by bodies of people, particularly by schools and other institutions, where young people are working for self-betterment,to act as an incentive towards stronger efforts,to inspire towards nobler ideals,or perhaps to check and fortify at a moment of indecision and weakness.
"Not failure, but low aim is crime," is a maxim met with repeatedly and known as truth by all.For this reason,I think our school should have a motto that aspires to a superlative degree of excellence, even though some people would probably deem it impracticable and idealistic. It would help and uplift us if we kept before us always, the maxim "Our utmost for the highest." It is one that we can practise continually whether at work or at play,in the home or elsewhere.
If everyone endeavours faithfully to keep it,results will very soon be visible. It will never be too much trouble to try one’s best at work that often grows difficult and irksome. When playing a losing game, strongest efforts will be put forth honestly, and ill-will will be completely shut out because of being of too low an order.Apart from school duties, home duties will receive proper attention.Every girl will take care to be always tidy.Even if we arrive home from a house-meeting rather tired, and find a lot of homework waiting to be done,it will not be beyond our effort to clean our shoes well, rather than wear them dirty to school the next day.
These perpetual efforts, which will doubtless prove very tiring at first,if diligently followed at school will build characters strong enough to aim high when much greater difficulties make themselves felt, especially when school-days are over. When we all learn to strive steadily for the highest, our school will shed an uplifting influence on those around.
It is not necessary to print our motto in a conspicuous place to make it known:it will make itself known. If every pupil in our school resolves firmly to abide by our motto each day,she will turn these well-spent days into weeks, terms, and years, and produce lasting results.
Outsiders, watching us,will see perpetual effort and untiring endeavour, and while they may wonder,we will know that it because one of us is putting forth her "utmost for the highest."
