两空到底怎么填啊?为什么呢,这里Immediately 是作连词的,一.就.,但后面加什么呢,arriving arrived 为什么呢,immediately作连词的用法?

两种填法：after reaching或he reached
第一种是immediately做副词.

补充：
upon此处的意思是“to say that something happened immediately after you have done something or at the same time as you do it指某事同时或紧接发生”,又如：

upon doing用在句首,前面不能再有其它词.
immediately arriving at不行.如果把immediately看做连词,则它连接的成分要对等,后面是个句子,前面也要是个句子；如果把immediately看作副词,则短暂动作arrive的现在分词不能作状语.
提醒：正确的东西读起来别扭,说明还没有培养起应有的语感；错误的东西读起来顺口,说明已经培养出了不太恰当的语感.
